For I trust Lord

Pals! Check out my new poem here.. love ya

For I trust Lord…

I am standing right here,
Firm and strong.
Proudly carrying all my
Beautiful scars along.

Each scar bears a
Long  and hefty story.
Though they seem ugly,
But gave me the glory.

Tired I may look,
But that's surely I'm not.
Rest I may take… but quitting?
Not even in the thought.

Winning is the nutrient,
I am nurtured with.
You can feed me to lose?
It's your sheer myth.

They  try to shackle me up
And crush me like a twig, but
 now nothing can cease me,
'cause I'm born to make it big.

Come, give me more wounds!
I shall still "stand still".
Let the wounds leave the scars
For they make my will "strong will".

Mediocity doesn't suit me,
Zenith is for which I strive.
Don't care if you can't handle me,
Just go, get a life.

I can live tough days and nights,
and can walk a sharp sword.
I shall dwindle not by an inch,
For I trust the gracious Lord.

For he has better plans...

Hey my lovely friends!

Through my posts till now, you all might have observed that most of them include experiences from my life or from other peoples’ lives. This is because I feel that we can learn and absorb the learning better from the live examples. Here also, in today’s post I want to share a learning of mine through various examples of my own life.

We seem to plan a lot about our lives; some things go well according to the plan and some do not. The things that did not go parallel to our plans disappointed and sometimes even depressed us. Because that was what WE planned for OUR OWN GOOD and to succeed! But then, who plans to fail?? All of a sudden, a storm comes; something very different happens that was not there in that very PLAN of ours.

However, if we go back and compare what we planned with what actually happened, we seem to be relatively happier in our present conditions. And mind you! People who are happy with their present state are the ones who experience the presence of ALMIGHTY with them. We may question HIM, fight with HIM that why did HE not help fulfilling our plans but as the time passes and gradually HIS answer is revealed and we are convinced that HIS plans were better, rather THE BEST.

To elaborate my point, here is my story. Plans, plans and more plans were there in my mind as I saw my friends making plans for their future. One of them was planning to be a doctor, another and engineer and one was planning to be what her parents were planning her to be (duh!!). Lagging behind in my planning strategy, I chose to be a doctor (because one of the people who influenced me in school wanted to be one…humbug!!) also, I couldn't understand history and economics, so for me my favorite subject science was left and dream of becoming a doctor also became concrete (kind of). I toiled to clear the PMT (pre-medical test) day and night but couldn’t (no wonders) and took up Biotechnology as my subjects in Bachelors. It was kind of a compromise and also my so-called PLANS to be a doctor were crushed.  Gradually, I started enjoying studying biotechnology and my plan was now to be a BIOTECHNOLOGIST. Moreover, the term ‘biotechnologist’ itself charmed me than that lame, old-fashioned doctor (psst!!). I then did my Masters also in the same TERM and came back home BLANK for I did not have any idea which companies to apply for job. Therefore, to pass my time I joined this really nasty gymnasium somewhere near my house and tried very hard lose those extra kilos.

Guys, here came the turning point of my life (oh please, I did not lose weight and became a supermodel). I met this girl who offered me a job as a communication trainer in their institute which I joined to make some money. Viola!! All of a sudden, I was an independent rich girl with peanuts (my salary) in my pocket. Day by day, I started realizing that this is what makes me happy – meeting and interacting people from different walks of life (let me tell you all, I trained from school kids to police inspectors to HR managers and who not (chuckles)).

And now my heart was completely into training and public speaking and not at all in biotechnology.  I DID try after sometime in a few pharma and biotech firms but either their profiles didn’t interest me or sometimes they were not interested in an ancient biotechnological animal like me who did not have any updated knowledge of new researches. Hence, I stayed here (FIRM AND STRONG) as a soft skills trainer, motivational speaker, poet and writer. I realize it now that my potential could only be completely utilized as a trainer and not a biotechnologist. Now I am a constant learner and also an avid reader (as I mentioned in my earlier post). I have also worked as a copy editor where to pass an exam I could use my knowledge of those concepts that I learnt in the institute where I worked earlier. Here, I got the catch that everything in our life is interlinked. Now, I know why I failed in PMT and couldn’t pursue biotechnology as a career. Because HE wanted me to be happy and I AM happiest with this field that I am working in.

So you see why I don’t like to plan things? For my plans are always proved to be smaller than HIS. Hence, I love to go with the flow.

In the pics below, you can see me pursuing my passion and not plan - training and motivating.

Folks, my coming posts shall be the series of this one (Gosh! It is the era of sequels) where the point “his plans are greater” shall be elaborated more.

Till then, go with the flow
Love

siblings: oh so imperfectly-perfect creatures on earth

There is always something about these siblings. Ain't it? Remember?? you are so so happy with the new toy that dad got you today but as it comes inside the house, you younger brother or sister wants to break it, hide it, kill it or whatever but do not let you play with it. It is your birthday, you are destined get a new dress and new shoes for the special day, but it is your siblings who get the same importance on YOUR day. Huh!!! Excuse me!!...I AM THE ONE WHO WAS BORN ON THIS DAY!!!! Ahhh..who cares?? Imagine, you are going to have a payjama party with your friends at your home in your room with a little privacy, but hey! what is this? Your younger sibling intrude into your room and do not want to move without the hefty bribe. This is what we all have faced with our imperfect siblings.

Ever wondered why God had problem with me only, when I was happy being with my parents, being the only one loved and then came the DEVIL in my happy life. Just give them anything, be it a toy, your bicycle, your scooter or your laptop, it will not be returned in the same condition as it was handed over.

I remember giving my younger brother the keys of my Kinetic Honda -a scooter (OK YES, I did not like it to be called a scooter or worst, a LUNA...for God sake..nooooo), which were never returned with the key rings I bought with so much of enthusiasm. And then, the same fight with my father over why he let him touch my things. For which, I always got the same cliched answer "you are elder, try to understand". Gosh!! so when can I be younger to not understand sometimes. However, gone are the days of those battles and wars and we have come out mature enough to understand each other.

All of a sudden comes a day that the same ol' IMPERFECT sibling  becomes the treasure of advice in need (what a surprise!!). Also, we feel that we are becoming so overprotective of that one awful creature that this creature turns into the awesome part of our life. They are always just one call away, always there to be with you and sometimes when you need them, they go out of the way to help you with all their sources and strengths, though with a grumble!! Actually, this shows  how much they care and love us that they can't resist helping us even if they have something important of their own to do. I have yet to research on how these IMPERFECT creatures suddenly become so PERFECT especially for your sake that they leave your gobsmacked with the perfectly-done task assigned by you (again with a grumble..lol!!)

And hence, I have awarded them all with a Title - The imperfectly-perfect creatures..Ahhh!! How we love them.

Dedicated to Varun - An imperfectly perfect creature in my life..
No matter what, I am always there for you.

Love
